Participation of Mapna Group in the 8th International Energy Exhibition
The 8th International Energy Exhibition (Water, Power, Renewable Energies, Oil, Gas & Petrochemistry) which was inaugurated on Monday, January 16th, at International Exhibition Center of Kish Island, closed on Thursday, January 19th.
In this exhibition more than 200 local companies and 50 representatives of foreign companies displayed to public their latest products and achievements in oil, gas, petrochemical, power, water, and renewable energies industries in a venue with an area of 20,000 sq. m.
One of the objectives of the organizers of this exhibition was to make interaction between local and foreign companies distributing products, equipments, services, and technology in the domain of production, transmission, and distribution of oil, gas, petrochemical products, power, water, and renewable energies and holding, subsidiary, and affiliated companies of Ministry of Energy in order to assist the sale of products and services offered by such companies.
Having reliable management, technical, and engineering knowledge in all relevant domains and proper capacities, Mapna Group as one of the reputable companies in the domain of energy, oil, and gas industries was also present in this event in order to introduce capabilities and increase the level of cooperation.
Details of the kidnapping of seven Iranian engineers working at Syria's Jandar power plant:
Managing director of Mapna Combined Cycle Power Plants Construction and Development (Development 2) Company elaborated on the kidnapping of seven Iranian engineers working for Syria's Jandar power plant project.
Addressing reporters, Mohammad Ebrahim Mossali stated in Tehran:
On Tuesday morning, 20th of September 2011, five Iranian engineers and technicians of "Fan Avaran Sanat Gostar Zagros Company" (subcontractor of Development 2 Company) involved in the construction of Jandar power plant in Homs province of Syria were kidnapped by unknown individuals and transferred to an unidentified location on the way to the power plant site from their residences. These individuals include:
1- Sajad Amirian, electrical engineer and supervisor of electrical equipment testing group
2- Ahmad Sohrabi Kortabad, electrical technician and workshop supervisor
3- Hassan Hassani, electrical technician and electrical equipment installer
4- Majid Ghanbari Bidromi, electric technician, also in charge of testing electrical equipment
5- Kyumars Ghobadi, electrical technician and electrical equipment installer
He added:
"One day after this incident, Mr. Pejman Boyeri, electrical engineer and supervisor of the workshop for the construction of power plant's substation from Parsian Post Company as contractor of Mapna Company and Mr. Abdolkhalegh Sahneh, HSE expert of Development 2 Company who had travelled to the project site in order to figure out the fate of their kidnapped colleagues were as well kidnapped by kidnappers and to this date, we have no information whatsoever about the fate of our colleagues".
According to Mossali, three Arabic speaking non Iranian nationals have disappeared as well.
Managing director of Mapna Combined Cycle Power Plants Construction and Development (Development 2) Company further expressed the hope that any likely misunderstanding will soon be removed and the above mentioned individuals get back to work in Jandar project.
He stated that Mapna is prepared to raise and pursue the issue in the international circles, although we are already following up on their case with the Syrian PEEGT as employer of the project, he added.
Mr. Mossali expressed the hope that his employees will return to their families soon.
Mapna Company is constructing Teshrin and Jandar combined cycle power plants in Syria. Teshrin project is about to be commissioned while Jandar power plant project has experienced a progress of 70% and is expected to go into operation next summer.
