Project Management & Planning

MAPNA has managed some of the largest and most complex projects in the Iranian & Middle East power industry

Project management joins various activities in a project. Although a project might be well conceived, adequately financed, contracts carefully drawn up, contractors well qualified, consultants highly experienced; but if the efforts of all the participants are not expertly coordinated or skillfully managed by modern planning & control systems, the project may overrun the budget, fail to meet the schedule, or fall short in technical quality. The larger and more complex the project, the more critical is the overall management function.

MAPNA forms highly skilled and experienced teams, capable of organizing, scheduling, and integrating all the individual elements of a project, & establishes state of arts software & hardware technology for planning & control systems. The implication process in this field includes:
• Recognition of priorities
• Focus on the overall view
• Takes full advantage of available resources
• Resolve conflicts
• Identification of issues before they turn into problems
• Help customers to maintain steady control of the project and its various elements

On major projects, the effort frequently involves a wide range of participants, including designers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, lenders, government and local organization, and social interests and public groups. An integrated project management team organizes and manages the full range of services necessary to oversee project demands, from the master planning phase to operation. The primary activities involved in managing a successful project can be broken down into the following basic categories: controls, design, and construction. In each category, there are three overriding objectives:
• To complete of the elements of the project and the overall project within budget and schedule.
• To maximize the involvement of local participants (engineers, architects, contractors, etc.).
• To create flexible high quality facilities to meet future demands efficiently.
