Engineering & Manufacturing (EMAN) division is one of the six MAPNA divisions with 105 working experts In his head quarter, One of the main responsibilities of this division is engineering ,design and manufacturing the main equipment for power plants and the steam and power utility projects . For the time being the products of the manufacturing companies are as follow: 25 units of 162 MWs gas turbogenerators,12 units of 160 MWs steam turbogenerators,37 packs of electric and control systems along with the power plants protection systems , 24 units of heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) , 30 units of 25 MWs small gas turbo generators , Siemens and GE turbine blades and the related auxiliary equipment along with all necessary related engineering and technical services.
The division consists of units in this head quarter and the manufacturing companies as follow:
Engineering Deputy :
The main task of engineering deputy is in the power block area which includes engineering and design of gas and steam turbines and their auxiliaries, generator, bus-duct, units electrical and control systems , HRSG,s as well as main and unit transformers and generator circuit breakers.
Another main activity in this deputy is the standardization of power plants design mainly in Power block , which is referred to as " NIYAM PLAN "
Generally, this deputy is responsible for basic design of main equipment and systems in power plants, including P&ID.s, SLD.s, configurations, arrangements and all engineering requirements for execution of projects. In this regard, there is a very close relationship between engineering disciplines of this deputy with engineering disciplines of manufacturing companies from one side and the engineering teams of development companies from the other side.
The standardization task is the most important responsibility in this deputy which helps MAPNA Group not only to reduce the overall time required to complete the engineering works in a typical project but in addition to optimize the projects design technically and economically. The standardization team also gets the necessary feedbacks from detail designers, project execution teams and O&M personnel to improve their new version of standard documents . Finally standardization team is constantly endeavoring to expand their standardized designs to cover more types of power plants and establish a mutual power plant culture.
Technical Proposals Deputy :
The main engineering core of MAPNA Group for preparation of technical parts of proposals for various tenders is stationed in this Deputy .For achieving the assigned task ; initially a proposal committee is set up by MAPNA Group sales deputy in order to assign the proposal manager , outline the execution strategy for preparation of proposals , and following up the proposal preparation progress. Based on the type of projects the following activities are carried out by technical proposals deputy in preparation of technical portions of proposals :
1. Head of various engineering disciplines and technical proposal deputy have a meeting for making proper decisions on engineering strategy on preparation of proposal.
2. Planning of site visit for gathering the required information and data.
3. Specify the format of proposal documents to be prepared and the project specific code name
4. Review and study of tender documents technical portions.
5. Clarification of any ambiguity or question which may be raised during review of tender documents.
6. Preparation of technical deviation lists.
7. Preparation of necessary drawings such as overall plant layout and single line diagrams for all proposals and other documents such as flow diagrams , P&IDs, preliminary arrangement of equipment and facilities, piping layout and route and administrative and service buildings architectural drawings according to the requirements.
8. Preparation of general list of equipment and civil works including bulk materials for cost estimation.
9. Coordination with planning deputy in preparation of proposals time schedule and proposal committee in following up the tenders technical proposal preparation progress.
10. Preparation of purchase technical specifications , answering the probable questions of manufactures ,review the clients proposal technical Spec, Technical evaluation and selecting the best choice, for various equipment and systems in different islands which can not be supplied by Mapna Group manufactures.
11. Preparation of the required technical specifications for those islands which have not been quoted and completing technical schedule of tender documents after receiving the required data from bidders and preparing the final technical proposal.
12. Filling up the guarantee values and other required data.
13. Sending the prepared final technical proposal to proposal manager for dispatching to client.
Planning and Production Coordination Deputy :
The main task of planning and production coordination deputy is to plan and coordinate the engineering tasks of EMAN's engineering deputy and on the other hand, coordinate the engineering and manufacturing activities of EMAN's manufacturing companies. The more details of Planning and
1. Planning and preparation of progress reports for engineering and design tasks including the preparation and review of design documents . and controlling the status of issuance and approval of engineering & design technical documents .
2. The overall supervision of manufacturing companies activities including the control of mile stones related to the products and merging the schedules in timely completion to cover the contractual obligations with regards to MAPNA Group head quarters master plan.
3. Specifying the manufacturing control indices in order to evaluate the product quality and the completed products quantity as well as the transfer of suitable experience gained by each company to other companies with similar undertakings.
4. Review and analyze the final cost of finished products and as a result propose the proper methods for optimizing the costs and make the necessary coordination with the Cost transfer section stationed at MAPNA Group head quarters.
5. Coordination between head quarter shared services and the corresponding divisions of manufacturing companies .
6. Review and evaluation of developments projects of subsidiaries and the related annual budget based on the plans.
7. Supervision over HSE instructions and regulations implementation and qualitatively in EMAN subsidiaries.
8 . Preparation and compilation of justification and proceedings reports for EMAN division.
9. Organizing and archiving of all technical documents for various projects constructed or still under construction.

-MAVADKARAN (Jahed Noavar) Engineering Company.
-SEPAHAN Equipment Manufacturing Company.
EMAN division is responsible for two projects in EP basis as follow:
25 MW Turbo-Compressor & Turbo-Generator Projects Management
Due to high demands of industries towards small size engines, this management has been founded in Mapna to handle 25 MW gas turbine engines for the use of mechanical drives in industries and power generation.
Boundary of management:
· Project management towards customers and individual sub suppliers
· Coordination towards localization of gas turbine engines for use of mechanical drives in industries and power generation by local manufacturing companies
Coordination towards localization of gas compressors for use of gas transmission lines and electrical & control systems in different configuration for use of industry and power generation
Wind Power Plants project Management
According to world attitude to prevent and reduction of energy production harms by using of fossil and nuclear fuels, The reversible energy power plants are the most interested between many countries and environmentalists.
- One of the most conventional of these reversible energies is use of wind power plants and converting wind energy to electric power for public consumption .
- Therefore power ministry with Coordination of renewable energy organization proceeded to introduce of wind power plant projects and 500MW manufacturing of these power plants is assigned to MAPNA Group as a EPC project.
